Operating System Requirements
Toniq software runs on Microsoft Windows. Business or
Professional versions of Windows are required.
The following operating systems are supported:
- ** Windows 7 (Professional or
Ultimate)
- * Windows Vista (Business or
Ultimate)
- Windows XP Professional
- Windows 2000 (Professional or Server)
- Windows NT (this is generally only present on an older
computer and less common, NT is not
compatible with online claiming)
* Some EFTPOS software has not passed
Vista certification and it is not recommended to use Vista on
Retail POS workstation
** Windows 7 may have Printer driver issues,
also make sure your Eftpos is compatible

MS SQL Server for Toniq Database
Toniq uses Microsoft's SQL Server software for database
management, which improves database stability.
The MS SQL versions must be either:
Support Software
To allow access by Toniq staff for support purposes, PcAnywhere
communications software must be installed on your Toniq
server & Toniq backup server.
The version required is dependent on the version of Windows
software as follows:
- Windows 2000 - PcAnywhere version 9.21 or higher
- Windows XP - PcAnywhere version 10.5 or higher
- Windows Server 2003 - PcAnywhere version 11.0.1 or higher
- Windows Vista - PcAnywhere version 12.1 or higher
Antivirus / Firewall Software
It is recommended that you use antivirus/firewall software when
connected to the internet, on all workstations. There can be
compatibility issues with our software and firewall programs. So
please get your hardware person to check with us, to make sure your
Toniq system continues to run smoothly after installation.
